Important Considerations Before You Begin
Before you commit to deletion, consider the following:
- Deactivation vs. Deletion: Deactivating a page hides it from public view but allows you to restore it later. Deleting it is permanent after a 14-day grace period.
- Administrative Rights: You must have Full Control access to the page to initiate the deletion process.
- Content Loss: Once the page is permanently deleted, all posts, photos, and followers associated with that specific page will be removed forever.
Step-by-Step Deletion Process
As of August 2026, the interface for managing pages is integrated into the Meta Business Suite. Follow these steps to remove your page:
- Switch Profiles: Log in to your Facebook account and switch to the profile associated with your Business Page.
- Access Settings: Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select Settings & Privacy, then click Settings.
- Navigate to Privacy: Locate the Privacy tab in the left-hand menu, then click on Facebook Page Information.
- Locate Deletion Option: Look for the Deactivation and Deletion section. Click View next to this option.
- Select Delete: You will be prompted to choose between Deactivate Page (temporary) or Delete Page (permanent). Select Delete Page and click Continue.
- Confirm: Facebook may ask you to re-enter your password for security verification. Once confirmed, the page will enter a 14-day deletion window;
The 14-Day Grace Period
Meta provides a 14-day buffer period. If you change your mind within two weeks of initiating the request, you can log back into your account, navigate to the same settings menu, and click Cancel Deletion. After the 14 days expire, the page and all its data are permanently erased from Meta’s servers and cannot be recovered.
